This book is a long overdue history of the paddle steamer Ryde, whose career as a railway ferry between Portsmouth and its namesake town also included a spell as a minesweeper in World War II. After her passenger career was over, she became a popular entertainment venue on the Isle of Wight, but in more recent times has decayed beyond the point at which restoration would be a viable option.
£4 per book sold through this website will be donated to the Medway Queen Preservation Society, supporting the preservation of the Ryde's consort in her non-sailing career.
