This preowned, hardback book with dust jacket and 192 pages was written by Ian Johnston and published by Clydebank District Libraries in 1993.
At the height of Clydeside's domination of the shipbuilding industry, William Beardmore laid out the Naval Construction Works at Dalmuir equipped with the finest facilities to date at considerable cost.
Beardmore intended that this yard would be capable of building the largest ships, both naval and mercantile, then envisaged.
The history of the yard along with some excellent black/white photography is well documented here.
