At Wembley are seen Standard Tube stock as pilot locomotives. North Harrow has steam ballast trains in action. At Rickmansworth the changeover from steam to electric locos happens.

At Chesham the Shuttle is still steam hauled. The last day of it is featured. A T stock train is spotted in the bay at Chesham. At Farringdon St, a District Line Q stock train passes with a bank holiday working to Aldgate. A Met electric loco passes Bromley-by-Bow with the Little Ilford depot stores train.

West now, at Lillie Bridge L94 is trying to get onto Western Region tracks with the "Western Goods". A look at the Piccadilly Line shows battery locos and a 1938 ballast motor on a rubbish train. Various other PW trains are spotted and after an R stock train passes we have a good look at the single car South Acton shuttle service. Back to Bromley-by-Bow and R, D, and the final tour of the O and P stock takes place. At Blake Hall on the Ongar branch the evening rush hour is on and the passenger arrives! Rare footage follows of the Northern City line 1938 stock being transferred to and from Finsbury Park station on its way to Highgate. Finchley Central has the experimental car 10306 with its new rood lights. Hounslow West is seen before being resited to allow the Heathrow Extension to be built. On the East London Line a study of most of the stock which has worked the line. From F, PCM equipped O and P stock, the 1938 trains and the A60/2 cars.

Film of the 1963 Met Centenary parade at Neasden follows with L44 hauling the Chesham Set, and a replica of the very first Underground train. Included are many more sequences from the early 1960s.
